Company 2 Finds Smoke in an Apartment Complex

Companies 1, 2, 6, and 12 were dispatched to the 200 block of 8th Street in the Town of Vinton for a reported structure fire in an apartment complex. Engine 2 responded with a crew of 4. Upon Engine 2 arrival, Assistant Chief 2 reported a 3 story apartment complex with nothing showing from all sides and established 8th Street command. Engine 2 and Medic 23 found a haze of smoke throughout the complex during investigation. Crews investigated and, with the help of Vinton PD, evacuated the apartment complex. After searching multiple apartments for source of the smoke, crews were unable to locate and cleared the scene.
