Motorcycle and Deer Collide on Washington

Company 2 was dispatched for a motorcycle accident on Washington Avenue at the Blue Ridge Parkway overpass. Units responding were advised that a motorcyclist had struck a deer. Medic 23, Rescue 21, and Engine 2 responded. As Engine 2 responded, Company 2 was dispatched for another accident on Washington at the entrance to William Byrd High School. Tanker 2 responded to the second accident. It was soon realized as units arrived on scene that the call had been dispatched twice and Company 2 only had one MVC at Washington and the parkway overpass. Units arrived on scene to find one motorcycle in the west bound lane. Engine 2 established Washington command. After a short time on scene, all units cleared Washington Avenue and returned in service.
