Members Recognized at Installation Dinner

Last night Company 2 held its annual Installation Dinner. The evening started off with dinner and was followed by the installation of the 2011 officers by Town of Vinton Mayor Brad Grose. Awards presentations followed.

Outgoing Officers:

Chief Emeritus Benny Powell was then honored for his service as Fire Chief for +15 years by past and present members along with Mayor Grose. Chief Powell received a presentation helmet from the department and a ceremonial axe. Thank you to everyone who shared their thoughts, feelings, and stories about Chief Powell.

Chief Richard Oakes followed this with his speech. The night was rounded out with the presentation of some gag gifts and the release of Vinton Fire 2010, a year in review for the Vinton Fire Department.

We would like to thank Town Council, Mayor Grose, Town Manager Chris Lawrence, Vinton Fire-EMS Captain Chris Linkous, our Life Members, Honorary Members, and friends and family of the Vinton Fire Department for attending the Installation Dinner this year.
