Kitchen Fire on Ramada Rd

6/18/2011 Around 8:30pm Company 2 was dispatched
for a residential structure fire in the 600 block of Ramada Rd.
Engine 2 responded shortly after dispatch. Rescue 22 arrived on
scene to find smoke showing. Engine 2 laid a 5" supply line in
from a nearby hydrant. Engine 2 arrived to find a single story
structure with smoke showing from the Alpha, Bravo, and Delta
sides. Captain 2 assumed Ramada Rd command and declared the
incident a working fire. Vinton PD had arrived on scene and
attempted to extinguish the fire with a portable extuingisher.
Crews found no fire in the kitchen and began checking for
extension to the attic. The fire was determined to be out after
overhaul and ventilation was performed. Crews were on scene for
approximately 2 hours. Units responding

Wagon 6 (Mt. Pleasant), Battalion 1 (Roanoke Co.), EMS 2
